Tony Pankiw is a Perth-based sculptor and artist whose works can be found in schools, gardens and community facilities throughout Western Australia.
Tony’s formal qualifications consist of a Fine Arts degree from Western Australian Institute of Technology (now Curtin University) and a post graduate degree from Victorian College of Arts.
After graduating, Tony produced large scale screen prints that reflected topics relevant to the day. In 1982, he was awarded the first prize in the Fremantle Print Award – the first of many acknowledgements for his career.
Today, Tony specialises in site specific sculptures and artworks designed and constructed to incorporate historical, cultural, community and environmental factors. Working mainly in steel, he has created major public art for State and Local Governments, land developers and private clients too.
