Ian Mutch is a Western Australian contemporary artist drawing inspiration from landscapes, animals, travelling, stories and patterns. His work explores concepts of memory, story and place, seeking to absorb and entertain the viewer through whimsical narrative, movement and design aesthetics.
Paintings are created using acrylics, aerosol and inks on a variety of scales – in the studio, the streets and on land.
Ian’s artwork has given life to public spaces, won awards and featured for well-known brands and publications. He has co-published Kingbrown Magazine and has been an industry speaker at Agideas Melbourne, the Design Institute of Australia, Semi Permanent Sydney and Perth Festival.
Ian has exhibited in locations throughout Australia, Singapore, Bangkok, Indonesia, New York and London.
